Child tax credit calculation

TurboTax is calculating child tax credit allowance per child as $500 per child, meanwhile IRS says it has to be $2000 per child.

All kids are below the age of 17. All of them lived fully in the USA with me for the tax year, and all of them are permanent residents.

What is the confusion here ?

Do your children have Social Security numbers? If they only have an ITIN, you cannot get the CTC, but you can get the $500 credit for other dependents.

Yes, all kids have SSN

If all the kids have SSN and are under 17, then you must have entered something incorrectly in My Info for them. Sometimes it helps to delete the dependent and re-enter them so it makes you go through the screens again to answer the questions correctly.
