Is the new Illinois Volunteer Emergency Worker Tax Credit for State of IL taxes in Turbo Tax now? This is a new $500 tax credit added starting for tax year 2023?

This is for IL state taxes only. Once applying and receiving the credit from IL, according to the directions on the state of IL website "The VEW credit certificate will contain a certificate number that you will use when you file your Form IL-1040. You will need to complete Schedule ICR, Section C, and enter your VEW Credit Certificate Number." My question is, can this be done on Turbo Tax? Since this is a new credit, I'm wondering if this is going to be on Turbo Tax yet.

Yes, the credit is included in TurboTax Online software, and you'll be able to enter your certificate number.

To get to this credit in the Illinois portion of the program:

Proceed through the state interview until you come to the Take a look at Illinois credits and taxes screen
Scroll down and select Start to the right of Volunteer emergency worker credit
Select Yes on the Volunteer Emergency Worker? screen
Enter your relevant information on the Certificate Number screen, then select Continue

Keep a copy of your Volunteer Emergency Worker Credit Certificate with your income tax records. If requested, you'll need to send the information to the Illinois Department of Revenue.
