I was quoted $80 but charged $119 with no explanation. All I had different from last year was interest income and a W-2.

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund you also agreed to a $39 "refund processing fee" that is charged by the third party bank that will receive your refund from the IRS, take out your fees and send the rest of the refund to you.

When you choose "refund processing" TurboTax gets its fees when the IRS releases your refund. Your refund goes to the third party bank. The bank takes out your fees and then that bank sends the rest of the refund to you.

What is Refund Processing Service?

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

After signing in to TurboTax, open or continue your return
Select Tax Tools from the menu, and then Tools
A Tools Center box will pop up on your screen
Select My Fees

If you see something that is incorrect, you will need to contact our Customer Care department. Please click the link below and fill out the short form. Please list Billing Issues instead of refund as the reason for contact.
