Yes. As a Doordash driver, you have certainly incurred vehicle expenses that you should claim on your tax return. Claiming vehicle expenses would reduce your taxable income and your taxes.

For vehicle expenses, you can choose between the standard mileage or the actual cost method.

Q. Is it worth it to input my gas and mileage on my 1099 for Door dash?

A. Both your income tax and your self employment (social security and medicare) tax are based on your net income.

Furthermore, you are required to claim all legitimate deductions so that you do not take advantage of other tax breaks (e.g. the Earned Income Credit).

as mentioned you can use the standard mileage method

For the final 6 months of 2022, the standard mileage rate for business travel will be 62.5 cents per mile, up 4 cents from the rate effective at the start of the year. this does include an amount for depreciation on the vehicle. additional allowable costs would be business tolls and parking.
