      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, city taxes are deductible as well as the property taxes and mortgage interest you paid on your new house.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Keep in mind these are itemized deductions which must exceed your standard deduction ($12,000 for single filers and $24,000 for married filers), before you will notice a difference in your tax return.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also note the document transfer fee is not deductible.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
