I received $2400 in 2020 for the 1st stimulus payment. That appears to be because they hadn't updated their records yet to delete my husband because he died. I did not receive either the 2nd or the 3rd stimulus of $600 and $1200 respectively. If you add up the 3 payments issued by the Fed of $1200+600+1400, they total $3200. I only received a total of $2400, so wouldn't there be an adjustment o a credit for the $800 I was shorted, or were there AGI limits on the remaining two payments?

An adjustment may be available to you but I am unsure how much of each payment that you received.

The first and second stimulus payments may be available to you through your 2020 Federal 1040 tax return.

The third stimulus payment may be available to you through the 2021 Federal 1040 tax return.

You may have received an IRS Letter 6475 reporting that you were sent the third stimulus payment.

At your IRS online account, you can find whether the first or second payment was issued to you that you did not receive. You can also find this information on your tax transcript.

If the IRS says that you received the third stimulus payment, You may request a payment trace to track your payment by mailing or faxing a completed IRS Form 3911 Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund.

The qualifications for the first two stimulus payments are:

you were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2020,

you were not a dependent of another taxpayer, and

you have a Social Security number that is valid for employment.

There are income limitations are if your adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than:

$150,000 if married and filing a joint return or filing as a qualifying widow or widower

$112,500 if filing as head of household or

$75,000 if filing as a single or as married filing separately.

The Economic Impact Payments were based upon 2018 or 2019 tax year information. If you did not receive either of the first two stimulus payments, you may receive that amount through a Recovery Rebate Credit. The credit was based upon 2020 tax information and can be found on line 30 of the 2020 Federal 1040 tax return.

The qualifications for the third stimulus payment are:

you were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2021,

you were not a dependent of another taxpayer’s 2020 tax return, and

you have a Social Security number.

There are income limitations are if your adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than:

$150,000 if married and filing a joint return or filing as a qualifying widow or widower

$112,500 if filing as head of household or

$75,000 if filing as a single or as married filing separately.

If you did not receive the third stimulus payment, you may receive that amount through a Recovery Rebate Credit found on line 30 of the 2021 Federal 1040 tax return.
