TT 2021 Deluxe, Desktop version, with all updates as of March 3, 2022.

I have 4 1099-DIV, each with entries in Box 7 (Foreign Tax Paid), each for a different country.

When running through the questions for "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid" - "Foreign Taxes", TT only generates one Form 1116 (COPY 1) for the first three 1099-DIV, but none for the fourth. Even after reviewing and going through the process a second time.

It does create two worksheets "1116 Comp Wks" though; the first for the first three countries/1099-DIVs, the second for the fourth.

When I switch to the Forms View, the fourth 1099-DIV shows in Box 7 b "Copy 2" for the Form 1116; when I double click on it to link it, the new window shows a "Copy 2" to select, however in the end that Copy 2 there is nowhere to be found.

I would think this is a bug that would need to be fixed.

Or, am I missing anything?

once you enter 3 1099's linked to copy 1 each designated as a separate column you need to add a second 1116

when you double click on 7b enter a name like copy 2 in the window that opens. then click on link

I tried all that, multiple times. TT always had a Form 1116 for reference, that it never showed in the Forms view. After several rounds of deleting 1116 Forms and Worksheets, linking before, during, after going through the Foreign Taxes questionnaire, it finally worked: two Forms 1116, each with a single worksheet.

Now, they still don't appear in the PDF version I make for backup, but I guess I'll be OK for filing

electronically.

Still, something is really buggy with that 1116/Foreign Tax process ...
