I am filing right now through Turbo Tax Deluxe. I am filing my 1099 NEC's. The program shows me as eligible for the Earned Income Credit - for my 2019 Earned Income. Which would definitely help me. But I received Disaster Unemployment in 2021. Does that still make someone eligible?

Probably. Internal Revenue Service rules say qualified disaster relief payments are not counted as income as long as the reimbursed expense is not also paid by insurance or other reimbursement.

The best way to know for sure is to put your info into TurboTax. The program will tell you if you are eligible for EIC.

Disaster Assistance with FEMA is Non-Taxable
