topic Third Stimulus Amount in Deductions & credits

Turbotax says my husband and I qualify for a $2800 third stimulus payment. Last year we received it in the amount of $4200. It asks if we got $2800 and if not, enter the amount we received. My question is a multipart question.

First, I thought the third stimulus was $1400 per person. I assumed that $4200 we received was $1400x3 for each of my husband, daughter, and myself. Is that wrong? Both my husband and myself each got form 6475 from the IRS. Both of them stated we got $2100. So does that mean my daughter didn't receive the third stimulus and qualifies for it? She made under $10000 last year. Would that go to her this year, or to us since she was our dependent last year?

Where it asks did we get $2800 and if not enter the amount we got. Do I enter $2100 (as in $2100 each?) Or do I enter $4200 (as in $2100 combined?) I would think if I am to combine the amounts, it would say we were eligible for $4600 ($2800x2).

3 x $1400 = $4200 2 x $2100 = $4200

They just divided the $4200 you received last year by 2 and assigned half of it to each of you. No, you do not get more. Just enter the $2100 each and you are done.

No you are not wrong. The third economic impact payment (3EIP) was $1,400 per person on the tax return. The

The letter indicates half of the payment for each spouse which totals $4,200 ($1,400 x 3 or $2,100 x2 which is the same result). If it was yourself, your husband and your daughter you received the full amount of the 3EIP.

If you daughter is your dependent for 2021, she would not be entitled to the 3EIP on her 2021 tax return.

Definitely enter $4,200 as the amount you received

I have a similar question along these lines.

Turbo Tax is saying I qualify for $5,600 based on my spouse and I's AGI.

We received $4,200 for the 3rd stimulus. We have the Letter 6475 from the IRS showing $2,100 for my wife and I assume one for me for the same amount I seem to have misplaced my letter).

So was I owed an additional $1,400? My refund just jumped up dramatically and I'm not sure that is correct. I thought we got all the stimulus we were owed?

Possibly, Verify your stimulus payment. If you don't have a letter, you can check your bank account or set up an online account with the IRS at Your Online Account.

As Tax Champ @xmasbaby0 said, your letter probably also says $2,100 if you and your wife filed together.

$5,600 is four people ($1,400 x 4). If you have another dependent on your 2021 return that was not on your 2020 return, then you will get an additional $1,400.
