Trouble filling in the How much did you pay for child care in 2021? I paid into FSA but also plenty left over to claim the credit. But system thinks I didn't use FSA.

I paid $5000 into FSA. However, day care was $17,400. I have $12,400 to claim to the credit. However, the system doesn't show any info to differentiate it and thinks I paid full $17,400 out of pocket. How can I fix it?

Double check that when you entered your W-2, that you entered the amount in Box 10.

Is the FSA amount shown in Box 10 of your W-2? If it is, then TurboTax will automatically reduce the amount paid for your child by $5,000 so you should enter $17,400 and on Here's what we have so far, you will see $12,400.

Enter $17,400 under your daycare provider(s), Your credit will be based on $3,000 for one child ($8,000 - $5,000 FSA) or $11,000 for two or more children ($11,000-$5,000).
