Am I "at risk of homelessness?" one of the qualifiers is "Live unaccompanied by other adults," but I live with roommates. Does that count?

I am a student filing individually. I live independently of my parents, and I handle over half of my living expenses on my own. But, one of the qualifiers for being "at risk of being homeless" is to live unaccompanied by other adults. I live with roommates

Probably not. Just because you live unaccompanied by other adults does not make you at risk for being homeless.

Are you able to pay your share of the rent? Are you worried that you will not have a home in the next few weeks or months? If not, then you are not considered at risk of being homeless.

If you are a student that is attending college, living in normal student housing and are not thinking you may not have a place to live in the near future, then the answer would be no.

I do not know if it makes a difference, but I do not live in student housing. It’s a for rent apartment, and I pay for rent with paychecks. There is a very small amount of money in my bank account, and i will not be able to pay for rent if I do not both get a job and receive payment very soon.

The main question I had was about whether an adult roommate counts as living accompanied with an adult.

No, the fact that you support yourself in an apartment versus student housing does not make a difference.

@Vanessa A is correct. You're not considered at risk of being homeless if:

You're able to pay your share of the rent,
You're not worried that you will not have a home in the next few weeks or months.
