Hi, I installed a biomass fuel stove in a vacation home I own in 2021. Can I claim the energy credit for it?

Yes, you can claim the energy credit for your biomass stove in your vacation home if the stove meets or exceeds an energy efficiency rating of 75 percent. Your stoves energy rating should be in the documentation you received with the stove or you may contact the manufacturer for its energy rating.

To enter your energy credit in TurboTax follow these steps:

Open or continue your return, if you don't already have it open
In TurboTax, search for energy improvements (Don't search for energy credit as this will take you to the wrong place)
Select the Jump to link in the search results
On the Energy-Saving Home Improvements screen, answer Yes and continue. Follow the instructions on the next screens
