      <description>&lt;P&gt;The software does it automatically once you've put it in the Federal tax return Charity section..&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tested it with an initial $16,000 of charity donations showing on line 20 of the NC D-400 Sch S form.&amp;nbsp; Then added a $500 2017 charity carryover in the Federal section, and line 20 of the NC SCH S 20 immediately showed $16,500.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Of course, it doesn't show anything there on the NC form SCH S until the total of all "allowed" NC deductions is high enough such that NC itemized deductions&amp;nbsp; are being used.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All deductions are transferred from your entries in the federal section..so keep putting in everything possible there.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
