This is a monthly subscription software. I previously used a purchased version of it but would like to now write off the cost of my subscription which is $50 per month. I've tried using acquired date 3/1/2018 and put into use date 4/1/2018, then changed acquired date to 4/1/2018 to see if making them match avoided the error. It goes to the #42 yes/no entry as the error but whether I put yes, no, or no entry I still get the error.

The IRS won't let you use the 179 deduction for a subscription. They category that as "rent" or "lease".

Also, you also can't enter a value as "per month".
