It appears that after putting in that I am Head Of Household and have 3 dependents and only made $600. I don't get the Earned Income Credit this year? Did I have to make more or what happened?

It appears that after putting in that I am Head Of Household and have 3 dependents and only made $600.

Something just doesn't seem right here. It's as if quite a lot of pertinent information has been held back. There is no way possible that you can support yourself and maintain a household (for HOH status) on $600 for an entire year. Much less, support 3 dependents.

Based solely on the information provided, I would expect that someone else supported you and your dependents for the entire 2021 tax year. Depending on the specifics of such a situation, whoever supported you may qualify to claim you and possibly your 3 dependents, as their own dependents. So if you are being claimed as a dependent on another return, then you yourself can't claim any dependents.

So what's missing here? Again, based solely on the information provided thus far, I can't see any possible way to support one's self, three dependents and maintain a household with this $600 in an entire year. Maybe you have other sources of income you're not mentioning here? An example would be a large cash inheritance, which may not be reportable on your tax return.

Do you have other types of nontaxable income, such as SSI, child support or public assistance?

But if you have other types of taxable income, EIC is calculated two ways: (1) based on earned income, and (2) based on AGI. Your then get the lower of the two.
