Hello, my ex and I share custody of our 17 (as of end of (2021). He was getting the child tax credit last year (2021) but I am.claiming her this year. First will my ex owe that money back and second will I only get half the child tax xredit when I file in 2022?

No, you will get the full amount that you are entitled to regardless of whether your ex already received the payments.

Your ex may or may not have to pay back the amount they received. Either way, it will not affect the amount you receive if you claim your child when you file.
