However, when I get to that section of my return it does not allow me to make an entry. The screen becomes blank.

Thanks for the additional info. I had also asked above if you are using Online TurboTax or the desktop software (CD/download). If desktop Premier, what operating system--Mac or Windows, and what OS version?

Online and desktop versions have different navigation methods, so I'll assume you already know how to get to the proper interview. If you are using desktop software, how are you making the entries--are you doing it in interview mode (step by step), or are you trying to do it in Forms Mode?

If using Online TurboTax, is the screen totally blank, or is it "stuck" with a spinning wheel like it is loading/buffering?

What is the screen you were on just prior to the blank screen? i.e., what is it you clicked that then gave you the blank screen? What navigation method were you using to get to the estimated tax payments section? There are several different ways to get there. I can tell you several methods, but I don't know if you are using Online Premier or desktop Premier.

The following info is for Windows desktop version:

If using Windows 10 version of the desktop software a blank screen can sometimes be due to a scaling setting or resolution setting. However, a scaling/resolution issue is normally with a popup window, and estimated tax payments entry does not use a special window.

The following may or may not help in your case, but it's quick to try if you are using desktop software.

Windows settings>System>Display>Scaling

In Windows 10, try a scaling of 100% (some people have it set higher). If that doesn't make your estimated taxes screen display properly, then go back to the Windows Display settings and try a different screen resolution such as 800X600 or 1024x768.

If you made estimated tax payments in 2020 towards your federal, state, or local taxes, enter them in the Estimated and Other Income Taxes Paid section.

With your return open, search for the term estimated tax payments.

Select the Jump to link.

Choose Start next to the type of estimated tax payment you'd like to enter.

What are you trying to do?

Are you wanting to report quarterly estimated tax payments you made toward your 2020 tax return so that you get credit for the payments on your 2020 return? No

Or are you preparing 2021 Form 1040ES vouchers to use for estimated payments this year? I am using the Deductions Tab under Federal Taxes

Are you using online Premier or the desktop software (CD/download)? I am using Turbotax Deluxe that I downloaded and installed

What does "unable to enter" mean? What happens? What is the roadblock? Are you unable to deposit a cursor on the field to type an entry?

1) There are 4 dates associated with 4 quarterly payments. The first date is 4/15/2021. It says you can change the dates. I can position the cursor on the "5" but when I type "2" nothing happens. I intended to change the date to 4/12/2021

2) I can position the cursor on the dollar amount and type 2000, nothing happens.

Or do you not know where to enter the 2020 payments you made and need navigation help? I am not making estimated payments for 2020. I am making estimated payments for 2021.

For the Federal estimated tax payments for 2021, when I positioned my cursor in the field and typed, nothing happened. It seemed like the screen had frozen. However, when I tabbed into the field, the box was lit and I was able to type. From my rudimentary knowledge, it seemed that when I positioned the cursor and typed, it was trying to do an insert of characters rather than type over what was there and there was no space for characters to be inserted. When I tabbed into the field, it was doing a delete and write. This problem did not occur on the state estimated tax payments or on any other screen I encountered

In addition to being unable to enter information in the Estimated Payments screen, there were other screens also where I could not enter data. In all of them, when I used the Tab key and, after going all around the screen, I tabbed back to the field, I was able to enter data. This seems to work on all screens where I had difficulty

Federal Estimated Tax Payments are entered in Quarters (screenshot).

April would be included in the Second Quarter, and June in the Third Quarter (not the same as calendar quarters, for the IRS).

If you can give more info, we'll try to help.

seems like a common issue, a bug.

windows

CD install or premier turbo tax

attempt to enter estimated taxes for 2021 tax year ... press start or later update .. and input screen is blank.

Personal Info, Income, Deductions, etc tabs remain.

estimate time to resolution? From this thread, doesn't seem like it's a new issue for this tax year.
