I just filed my 2020 tax return electronically and the IRS has accepted it. I realized after sending that I put the wrong amount in for the 2020 stimulus check I received. This will affect (lower) my refund. Should I immediately file an amended return or let the IRS correct my return?

No do not immediately try to amend unless you want confusion and delays for your refund. The IRS will cross check and see that you entered the wrong stimulus amount and recalculate your refund.

Do not immediately file an amended return. I recommend that you wait and let the IRS correct things. They have a record of what they sent you. When your return doesn't match up with their records, they will "propose" an adjustment and send you a letter. It will probably delay your return, if you were expecting one.
