      <description>&lt;P&gt;I don't know what form you are referring to line 24 on, but if you paid state taxes either as an estimated tax payment or a balance due payment for a prior year, the software would not ask you for an ID number.&amp;nbsp; I am afraid you may be in the wrong location.&amp;nbsp; I checked line 24 of the 1040 (line says "total tax" for federal return), and of the Schedule A (line #s don't go that high).&lt;/P&gt;
