      <description>&lt;P&gt;If you get a 1099 you will then file a Sch C and&lt;B&gt; take the expenses incurred in earning that income (including the mileage).&lt;/B&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can still take the standard deduction.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The employee business expense is no longer allowed in 2018 for W-2 employees (which will not impact you).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
