      <description>&lt;P&gt;That information has to be provided to the IRS by the local agency that has been enforcing child support so they can change the records for offsetting your refunds.&amp;nbsp; You cannot do that yourself.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;TurboTax never knows about offsets to your refund.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;if you file a request for extension of time to file,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;you can wait till Oct 15 to see if the IRS records are updated by then.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
