Hey folks.
My wife is a 100% disabled veteran and does not work. She collects monthly VA payments. I work full time and she raises our 4 year old 247. I make just under $60, what would be the best way to file to get the best refund?
Thanks,

File a joint return. Your wife's VA benefits are not taxable and do not get entered on the tax return. You can file a joint return even if one spouse has little or no income. That way you get the highest standard deduction for a married couple -- $24,800 -- which reduces the amount of income that is taxable, and any other child-related credits that you qualify for.
