Green Dot Bank and Covoid 19 Stimulus

In 2018 completed my tax return through turbo tax and opted to get my refund via Green dot bank. This is a service provider through turbo tax.

I received a prepaid debit card in 2019 with the refund. Today, I called Green Dot and they have no record of my account. Do I need to call the IRS? Is there any hope I can update my bank account information or can I receive another prepaid debit through Green Dot? Green Dot does not have a customer service dept available. I'll be fine waiting until I receive my check in the mail, but I can only assume there are customers out there who will be adversely impacted by this and the lack of guidance is frustrating.

Turbo Tax and Greet Dot have really dropped the ball here in my opinion! This is going to cause a lot of confusion and headache for customers and the IRS themselves.

Unfortunately, this is something new that is changing on a daily basis. TurboTax will follow the guidelines issued by the IRS. But as this point, specific guidance has not been provided as far as how the stimulus checks will be sent out.

The best advice we can give at this point it to check for updates on the IRS link below. Even the IRS is asking taxpayers to not contact them regarding the stimulus checks. They will update their website once they have a process in place.

So if you've moved or anything, presumably we are awaiting a check and shouldn't assume that the green dot info will be provided for a direct deposit?

I feel there is a a frustration coming from Turbotax not saying this, but there is no way they can know for sure. Their contract with green dot and this pandemic never had time to really meet and intermingle for PERFECT synergy. I'm freaking out just like you maybe are- but I'm trying not to expect Turbotax employees to know answers to questions our government doesnt. I've seen too many people threaten to take their business elsewhere if they dont get info. Odds are- if you're getting a debit card it's because you're not exactly a lucrative customer. You're in a hurry, like I was. Please stop with all the ragging at the employees. You cant speak with COVID-19s managerm

It appears that my stimulus was sent to a green dot bank account. I did not enter that info on my 2018 return. It appears Turbo tax did that without my approval. So, will I get my money? I don't have a green dot account nor a turbo card??
