Dependent Care Benefit

Turbotax online is adding a $5000 Dependent Care Benefit to my total income even though I did not receive or claim any such benefit. This is increasing my tax liability thus reducing my return. How can I remove that benefit?

The program will pick this amount up from Box 10 of your W-2. Check to see if there is an entry on your physical W-2 and or if you accidentally put an amount in the program.

That's just it, I don't have anything in block 10 of my W-2, nor did I enter in such an amount. How do I remove this?

By any chance did you auto-import your W-2? Sometimes the auto-import process introduces spurious data.

If this is a possibility, please copy down all the data on your W-2 (if you don't have a printed copy), delete the W-2, and add it back manually.
