Did you have an amount listed in box 10 of your W-2 by chance? If so, you must file Form 2441 to report this.

If not, please use the steps below to remove the form from your return.

To Delete Form 2441(Child and Dependent Care Credit):

1. Go to "My Account" in the top right corner

2. Select "Tools"

3. Under "Tools Center" select "Delete a Form"

4. Navigate to "Form 2441" and select "Delete" next to it

Another Way to Delete the Childcare Provider in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to "Federal Taxes" at the top of the screen

2. Select "Deductions & Credits"

3. Scroll down to "You and Your Family" and select "Show More"

4. Select "Revisit" next to "Child and Dependent Care Credit"

5. Select "No" to "Did you pay for child or dependent care in 2016?"

I did this and it still keeps asking for a ELC license number. I’ve put I didn’t pay for childcare and under the free version I don’t see any options to delete the form. This is so annoying!!

Does a W-2 report an entry on box 10? Such an entry would require an IRS Form 2241.

Are you being asked for an Early Learning Tax Credit number? Do you reside in the District of Columbia? See also this.
