      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, you can claim your son as a dependent if he &lt;U&gt;does not provide for more than half of his own support&lt;/U&gt;. You can also claim his education credits.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If he files his own return, he must indicate in the My Info section of TurboTax that he can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thank you for your reply. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;He pays for his rent, utilities, gas and food.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We pay for phone, vehicle insurance, health insurance, life insurance and we do help out with gas and expense money occasionally when work is slow for him. &amp;nbsp;Do the cost of the insurances count towards his living expenses/support?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
