The information on Form 2106 Line 6 is automatically calculated by TurboTax from the information you provide for Lines 1 thru 5 on Form 2106.

I had the same problem. TurboTax wouldn't delete some $0 entries that transferred over from last year, and it wouldn't let me move forward without entering a description. Once I entered "n/a" for all of them, I was able to pass the error review. It was very annoying.

Form 2106 may be used only by Armed Forces reservists, qualified performing artists, fee-basis state or local government officials, and employees with impairment-related work expenses because of the suspension of miscellaneous itemized deductions subject to the 2% floor under section 67(a) by P.L. 115-97, section 11045.

This has been the rule beginning January 1, 2018.

You can use the steps below to help you delete Form 2106 if you are using TurboTax Online and it needs to be removed.

Sign into your account
Then click Tax Tools to the left and then Tools
Click Delete a form from the pop-up that appears
Then scroll down and click Delete next to Form 2106
