      <description>&lt;P&gt;No, the premiums for her personal health insurance are not qualified medical expenses for the purpose of an HSA distribution.&amp;nbsp; However, they are qualified medical expenses for the purpose of a Schedule A medical deduction.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Once both you and she have reached age 65, premiums for her Medicare coverage or a Medicare supplemental policy would be qualified medical expenses for the purpose of an HSA distribution from your (not her) HSA.&amp;nbsp; (Only the HSA owner needs to be age 65 for Medicare premiums of the HSA &lt;EM&gt;owner&lt;/EM&gt; to be qualified medical expenses.)&lt;/P&gt;</description>
