Typically, once your return has been filed and accepted by the taxing authorities, TurboTax cannot make any changes to your return or the payments set up with the taxing agencies.

No, this is incorrect. I called the state of Maryland yesterday and they told me since it wasn't scheduled through them that they can't cancel it or modify it. It has to be done through Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax needs to make a way for people to edit their payment date after they filed for situations like these. When I filed I had no idea they were going to extend the deadline. If the state of Maryland allows you to edit your payment, then Turbo Tax should do the same. Maryland does not have any of my payment information on file. They can not change it.

@JotikaT2 and @Anonymous are both correct in this matter - once you have filed your return with payment information (bank routing number, account number, payment amount and payment date), you cannot change any of that information. It is processed automatically and, for numerous security reasons, cannot be modified.

TurboTax transmits your return (including payment information) to Maryland. Once it is sent (by you), TurboTax cannot change any of it.

Once MD receives the return via e-filing, they cannot change the payment data.

From the Maryland Department of Revenue's Making Direct Debit Payments:

"Enter Numbers Carefully

Enter your bank account and routing numbers carefully. We cannot change any of your numbers after you have entered the information, even if you request us to do so. In addition, we cannot cancel your direct debit payment after you have authorized the payment."

Can you see the numbers you entered for the electronic payment to verify them once they have been submitted?

You can find your direct debit payment information by downloading/printing a copy of your 2022 tax return. Please see the below TurboTax help article to print/view the tax return you filed this year, you will need to select the 2022 federal returns and all tax calculation worksheets.

How do I get a copy of a return I filed this year in TurboTax Online?

Once you have it downloaded, you can find the direct debit information on your State Information Worksheet, Part VII - Direct Deposit or Direct Debit Information.
