Can I file my AZ return BEFORE my federal return as I have until May 19th to file the Federal return? The Deluxe edition indicates one should file the federal return coincidentally with the state; however, the Federal return deadline has been extended.

Incidentally, I have a large Federal tax bill so I will take full advantage of the extension. What do I do with the AZ state return given this circumstance?

You can file your Arizona tax return before you file your federal tax return. It is possible that TurboTax will not allow you to e-file it separately, but normally you can. If not, you can mail the returns in.

Also, the Arizona legislature is considering a bill that will extend the due date beyond April 15.
