Efile state return

My son goes to college in VT and made some $ as a tutor. I already efiled his federal and CT state tax return. I now have to efile his VT state tax return. When I go to efile it, I get a message that says I have to efile federal tax return too. How do I just efile his VT tax return?

Good Morning -

There was bug in TT that a number of us have been tracking for a little while now - here is my status as of this AM:

I have the Desktop version. Just by chance I decided to launch TT this morning and surprise - there were updates.

I was able to successfully file my state return -

Hope the same is true for each of you.

I work in Information Tech in my company and as frustrating as it is, I am glad they were able to resolve the issue and get it promoted prior to their anticipated date, and prior to me needing to paper file.
