You can deduct any state taxes paid in 2020 with your 2019 state return as a state and local tax deduction. You have to be able to itemize deductions. Additionally, the deduction of state and local income, sales, and property taxes is limited to a combined total deduction of $10,000 ($5,000 if married filing separately).

TurboTax shows the amount on the Tax Payments Worksheet.
