Multi State Tax E- Filing

I had to file both NY and PA state taxes this year. I previously filed Federal and NY electronically. I now want to file PA electronically. The app is not allowing me to file PA unless I also refile Federal.

The message reads " to e-file you must also select the federal return"

How do i get around this?

If your federal return has been accepted, please follow the instructions below to e-file your state:

In TurboTax Online, sign in to your account.
Select Tax Home in the left menu.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right area).
Select File in the left menu (expand your browser window if you don't see this, or select the menu icon in the top left corner).
On the Just one more step screen, follow steps 1 and 2 if you haven't already.
Select the Start button to the right of Step 3.
On the Let's get ready to e-file screen, select I want to e-file.
Follow the instructions to e-file your return.

No, this issue is not resolved. I don’t use TurboTax online, I’m using the Windows PC software. It will jot low ne to file my PA state tax without the federal, which was already filed and accepted electronically.

That's a current known software bug...due to be fixed by/on/about 19 March...try e-filing the state again this coming weekend.....just after you run a software update then.
