The amount is supposed to be the amount over the allowed federal amount for mortgage interest, but Turbotax entered the wrong value.

I am sorry about the issue, but there is an issue with Mortgage Interest Deduction and TurboTax has not fixed it yet. It cannot translate to the state return accurately until it is fixed. Please check back often to see when it is fixed.

Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for the confirmation. I didn't notice the error until after I had efiled my state tax return. I am submitting an amended CA 540 by mail.
