topic This is my second source I've used for taxes and I am getting a bigger refund here because this source let's me claim the book money, where the other one didn't in State tax filing

I am wondering if that is okay that it added $700 to my refund (the other source did not give me anything when I typed in that amount)

Did you already e-file a tax return using some other software? You cannot file twice. If you did then one of the returns will be rejected. The IRS will only accept one tax return with your Social Security number on it. If your first return was accepted then the only thing you can do is wait for it to be fully processed and amend it later.

No! I did not file anywhere yet. I just want to know if it's okay that they are not the same numbers due to the educational part beforeI file

No--that's fine. Prepare and file your tax return correctly. It sounds like you just had something you did not enter in the first software program you tried out. The IRS does not see it until you file it.

you are not saying exactly what amount you entered on which form that reduced your tax by 700.

We can't see your tax return or know what you did.
