My screen locks up when I try to purchase this state. I've reinstalled Turbo Tax, all to no avail. What GIVES???

Here are a couple of things you can try to resolve this issue:

Download the latest Windows updates, especially if TurboTax was running fine before and only recently started acting up.
Download and install the latest version of Java for your computer. Then clear your Java cache.
1. Select Start Control Panel and then select Regional and Language Options.
2. Make sure the language is English (United States).
3. On the Languages tab under Text services and input languages, select Details.
4. Under Preferences, select Language Bar.
5. To turn text services off, select the Turn off advanced text services checkbox.
6. Select Yes if prompted to confirm your selection.

alternatively you can save hours and frustration. Turbo tax doesn't do Oregon, although of course they take their money.
