The state of Michigan Sent me a letter saying I have a past due debut of 1,434.90 It became past due on 4\18\2017. Why did I get this letter. I don't remember missing any payments to my state. Is there a way I can prove I paid? If so what form to I send to the State of Michigan. I thought turbo tax is surrposed to help with that. how can I correct this mistake so I don't keep getting letter saying I owe money.

Sounds like this is an old debt to the state of Michigan. TurboTax won't be able to resolve this issue for you. You'll need to contact the state of Michigan yourself for clarification. The letter should offer instructions on how to challenge the state's assessment.

To contact the state of Michigan's Department of Revenue, use the contact info linked below.

Your only proof that you paid your tax due to the state is your own bank/credit card records. TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your state tax. Sometimes users misunderstand and think that their federal refund was used to pay the state. The state can not be paid from a federal refund when you file your tax return. If the debt is old enough, it is possible that the IRS would SEIZE a federal refund for an old state debt.

Do you know how to access your 2017 return? Print out a copy for yourself and have it ready when you start making calls about this.

You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Account recovery

https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901535-forgot-your-turbotax-online-user-id-or-password

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

I AM BEING AUDITED

If you purchased Audit Defense:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2924451-i-bought-max-or-audit-defense-and-now-i-m-being-audited

AUDIT SUPPORT

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
