I used Turbo tax to file my federal and state income taxes. According to Turbo tax , after I worked through the South Carolina 1040 form, on line 34, I was told I owed nothing. I just received a notice from the state that I

owed over $4200. This was $4167 that I was told I owed plus a penalty of $89 and interest of approximately

$50. Can you help me?

Did you make any estimated tax payments to SC? If so, make sure they appeared on Line 17 of your SC1040. Estimated tax payments must be manually entered into TT.
