Does the deceased person you are filing for owe taxes? Or...

Does the deceased person you are filing for owe taxes? Or are they getting a refund? I ask, because your reference to "payment taken out" makes me think they owe taxes. Or are you referring to the TurboTax fees?
Overall, you are welcome to try to e-file, but dont' be surprised if the e-file is rejected with an "SSN LOCKED" error. But even if the e-file goes through, you still have to mail in the 1310 along with any other necessary and required paperwork to prove to the IRS that you are entitled to the refund. Additionally, you can't pay the turbotax fees out of that refund either.
When you elect the "pay from my refund" option, the refund is transmitted electronically to a third party (Santa Barbera Tax Products Group http://www.sbtpg.com) where the fees are deducted and then the remaining balance of the refund is either electronically transmitted to the tax filer, or a paper check is cut. Since I don't see how SBTPG will "know" you are the intended recipient, (the IRS gets the 1310, not SBTPG) you may find the refund in limbo for quite a long time, possibly years.
Overall, you're better off mailing everything. @TurboTaxSee one of you folks care to comment here please?
