topic State tax in State tax filing

Back in 2017, I rented an apartment in New York but was barely there.

most of my time I spend in Florida. Should I have filed income tax for New York???? When does someone have to file income tax on a state? I am an airline pilot and this is a bit confusing, since my base was New York, and that’s why I rented an apartment there, but were I spend most of the time was florida.
