For the time being, although the payment of taxes due has been deferred to July 15, 2020, in TurboTax you cannot enter a date later than April 15, 2020 for your payment by direct debit.

In order to take advantage of the extension of time to pay your taxes, you should select “I’ll mail a check” as your payment option when filing.

Why doesn't Turbo Tax just fix their program so I don't have to mail a check?

I would recommend logging out of your browser and program and then logging back in to ensure the updates are loaded for you.

TurboTax has been updated to reflect the new filing date.

Please see the attached for more information on the new date and options you have to adjust your payment date.

Your payment will not be automatically rescheduled to 7/15/2020. Unless you cancel it, the payment will still be processed on the scheduled payment date. To cancel the payment, contact:

e-file Help Desk (916) 845-0353
Weekdays, 8 AM to 5 PM

You must cancel your payment at least 2 business days before your scheduled payment. If your scheduled payment is on April 15, you must cancel the payment by April 13. We suggest you call us even sooner to cancel your payment.

Will my scheduled payment automatically be rescheduled to the tax deadline?

Thank you. Cancelling the FTB payment was easier than I expected it to be.
