You won't receive a deduction for 2018 federal taxes paid, You receive a deduction for your 2019 taxes automatically without doing anything. The deduction is calculated by taking the amount of tax liability generated from your adjusted gross income in your federal return and then is multiplied by a percentage determined by your adjusted gross income. This deduction is then listed on your Mo-1040 in line 13. It also gives a description how the deduction is calculated..

Hey @DaveF1006, thanks for the response.

For my clarity, is what you’re saying the same as the following on https://www.thebalance.com/deducting-federal-income-taxes-on-your-state-return-3193248

”Missouri allows a deduction for your federal income tax liability resulting from your federal tax return, but any alternative minimum tax (AMT) you're liable for must be subtracted, as well as the amount of certain refundable credits you received. The amount of the deduction is limited to $5,000 for single filers and $10,000 for married taxpayers who file jointly.”
