topic State Tax in State tax filing

I am currently a student and considered a dependent to my parents. We live in Florida, so we only have to file federal taxes. However, I worked in Virginia for a few months last year and am trying to file my state tax for that job. I already filed my federal tax through TurboTax but forgot to add my state tax. My federal taxes have already been accepted. Is there a way I can go back and file my state tax separately? Is there a free program to do this on?

Yes, you can file your state return after you have filed your federal return. Please follow the directions below to do so.

Sign in to TurboTax Online.

Go to Taxes > Tax Timeline.

In the SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO section, click Add a state.

Click on the State Taxes tab.

Click Continue to start or complete your state taxes.

Click Done with States.

Near the top-right of your screen, click the File tab.

If you do not want to pay to file your state return, then you can paper-file the Virginia nonresident state form 763.
