Seems this is a something that has shown up for years, after having dug through these forums.

Typical M.O.: Says I can't e-file state because there is an update. Federal e-filed just fine, by the way. But, I digress. Checked that the forms are available for online e-filing. Made sure 2019 is the only version installed. Uninstalled and re-installed. Download the latest update (via the manual update link floating around). But, the research I've done shows that the state updates are different from the "auto updates".

So I feel I've done quite a bit of diligence here; also, the above link shows that Intuit is actively patching states suffering the exact scenario I am in. Question is, when can I see something like this for Illinois?

Exactly! Went through the same steps, having the same issue in IL. Already filed and received my Fed. Please fix it.

Was on the phone with Tech Support for about 25 minutes, and she ended up getting me a state of IL d/l and once I installed that, I filed first try. Good Luck!

Can someone please send me the patch for Illinois - can't file electronically - keep getting the same error message stating there is an update & there is NOT- I have called Turbo Tax about 10 times and no one has helped me. I will not buy this product again.
