The 2019 Ohio tax return has no question about estimated Ohio tax paid for tax year 2019. It used to ask that and it does not. There is no way in the routine dialogue to enter IT40 ES which for me for 2019 was $1120. I had to override on line 15 to enter the estimated tax paid.

Now the program will not let me finish my efile. It keeps taking me to a dialogue that insists I must cancel the override. I cannot cancel the override or I pay an extra 1120 in taxes I already paid.

You can enter your Ohio estimated payments made in the Federal portion of the program. Those payments are entered there because they can also count as a deduction for taxpayers who itemize, and this allows those taxpayers to enter the information only once.

To enter your payments data and avoid the override so that you can e-File follow these steps:

Click on the Federal Taxes tab.
Click on Deductions & Credits.
Click on I'll choose what I work on.
Click on Start beside Estimates
Click on Start beside State estimated taxes for 2019.
Answer Yes, and click Continue.

This will allow you to enter your estimates so that you can cancel your override without having to pay any extra tax or mail in your tax return.
