      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;/I&gt;&lt;B&gt;You file two&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;part-year&lt;/I&gt; returns: &amp;nbsp;Maryland and Virginia. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;Although your residence in Maryland was very brief, it was before you settled in Virginia and you had tax taken out to Maryland. &amp;nbsp;This will be the easiest and most accurate way to file your state returns for this year. &amp;nbsp;Next year, even if you were to work in Maryland while living in Virginia, you would only file a Virginia return because they are&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;reciprocal states. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/I&gt;Please see this FAQ for more information: &amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4776822" target="_blank"&gt;https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4776822&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
