look: my fed refund was supposed to be 2676. I went to add state, and what I owe in state is 243 dollars. Suddenly, my fed return drops by 243 dollars and is now 2433. I paid for the turbo tax fees by card. Turbo tax took out the 243 dollars from my fed return, and is NOT applying it to state, because I have to send MO a check.

No you can not have the state tax due deducted from your federal refund.

You can only have the Turbo Tax fees for state deducted from your federal refund. And there is an Extra 39.99 Refund Processing Service charge to have the fees deducted. So try to pay with a credit card to avoid the extra charge.

No. You will still get the right federal refund. There is just a screen at the end that combines them and shows you the NET of federal and state but that is only for your own info.
