      <description>You can't.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;You have to file a nonresident return in the nonresident state, reporting the gain as income sourced in that state.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Then, in your resident state return, you include a form to claim a credit for the taxes paid to the nonresident state.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;Most likely this is a capital gain on the sale of real estate, or other real property, located in the nonresident state.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Have a similar question. Where in TT do you request a refund of taxes paid to your resident state (for taxes paid to non resident state)? Or do you just adjust in the resident state forms the amount of gains from the non resident state (there is an option to report a different gain on the state return from the federal K1 amount). Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
