      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;That is correct. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;Minnesota law is that if you file a joint federal return, you must file a joint Minnesota return. &amp;nbsp;Although you are correct in filing a&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;part-year&amp;nbsp;&lt;/I&gt;Wisconsin return, Minnesota will tax all of your income, so you must claim a credit for taxes paid to other states. &amp;nbsp;In the Minnesota return, you can enter this on the three screens seen below. &amp;nbsp;If TurboTax does not carry-over the Wisconsin amount, you will have to manually enter the amount of income you made in Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin tax withheld minus any Wisconsin refund. &amp;nbsp;This tax credit will subtract the tax that Minnesota would put on this same income, and allow both of you to claim any tax credits allowable by Minnesota to full-year Minnesota residents.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Congratulations on your marriage. &amp;nbsp;May you have many happy years together. &amp;nbsp;Here are the screenshots: &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
