<title>topic 1099g state refund in State tax filing</title>
    <link>https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/state-taxes/discussion/1099g-state-refund/01/70394#M1902</link>
<description>I recieved a 1099g from the state of illinois for a state refund i recieved in 2016. I have not recieved any income (i began school jan 10th 2016) and thus i dont need to file a tax return for the year. My question is what do i do with the 1099g? Do i need to file a tax return just for the 1099g? Or do i just keep it for records sake."</description>
